Jee docs
I have a query regarding nationality and document verification in JoSAA counselling.
My parents are Nepali citizens and came to India for employment many years ago. I have lived and studied in India for most of my life and completed my entire schooling, including Class 10 and Class 12, in India. I possess Indian educational documents such as Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, Aadhaar card, and PAN card.
However, I am a Nepali citizen and also have Nepali citizenship documents.
There is a difference in my mother's name between documents. In my Nepali documents, her name is recorded as "Mangli", while in my Indian educational records and other Indian documents it appears as "Manju".
My JEE Main and current JoSAA details show Indian nationality, but I have the option to change the nationality field before final submission.
Could you please clarify the following:
Which nationality should I select in JoSAA?
If I continue with Indian nationality, will there be any issue during document verification or admission?
If I change to Nepali nationality, what documents will be required during verification?
Will the difference in my mother's name between Nepali and Indian documents create any problem during admission?
In my situation, what would be the correct procedure to avoid issues during counselling and admission?
Kindly guide me so that I can complete my registration correctly.
Thank you.
