People should put all their pets away when they have friends over
I don't know how unpopular this idea is online but apparently, it's a piping hot take in person. I don't care how cute they are, I don't want to walk in and have to nudge your cat out of the way with my foot while you yell at me to not let them get outside, I don't want to have to constantly guard my food while eating with you on the couch because your little dog keeps trying to eat whatever I'm holding, I don't want to have to worry that my shoes or other belongings are going to get chewed through or scratched, and I definitely don't want to listen to you yell at your pets for 5 hours telling them not to do the prior things listed.
I understand obviously that you need to let them out for food, water, and to go to the bathroom, and that a lot of the issues I mentioned prior are mainly with untrained pets. But I'm gonna be honest, no one trains their pets anymore. Most seem to think that since they or I think the pet is cute, I'll tolerate whatever it does, which is 100% incorrect. One of my pets tends to get overexcited and jump, and guess what? I let her outside to run around or figure out something else if she becomes too much of a problem .
I love pets of all kinds, and I'm fine with them drooling, Jumping on me at first, sniffing me or trying to be close to me because that's what pets do. But I feel like sometimes it gets to a point where if the pet is becoming too much of a problem, you should just let them run outside or put them in another room until they calm down.
