Do any Toronto teachers here have experience working in reputable independent schools vs public schools boards? What was your experience like? Anyone here moved from independent to public or vice versa? I have an opportunity to have a permanent position at an independent school with competitive compensation, small classes, etc. However, there is no union and so no sense of job security. On the other hand, public school boards are under resourced, have major behavioural issues, and getting a permanent position is challenging. I’m at a crossroads here. If you have experience in both systems, what was it like and what encouraged your move to the place you’re at now?
