How to restore an old rocking horse

Hi everyone! This might be a little unconventional, but I was recently gifted this old rocking horse for the baby girl I'm expecting soon.

The hair feels like polypropylene and is very coarse and matted. Do you think it's even possible to restore it?

I finally made it to ultimate riches!!!

I know it's not much to many people, but I've been playing for 20 years and FINALLY hit 10m in the bank. I'm so happy!!!
