Hi, po! I’m a soon-to-be graduate (BS Mathematics), and I’ve been seriously considering pursuing a career as an actuary. The problem is, I honestly don’t have much idea where to start, so hindi ako sure gaano ito ka applicable here locally.

Some questions I have:

1. What does the actual entry-level path look like for someone fresh out of college?
2. Is it possible to get an actuarial-related job in the Philippines without having passed any exams yet (like as a fresh grad with no actuarial exams)?
3. Are there entry-level roles available outside Metro Manila, like in Davao or other cities, or is it mostly concentrated in Manila?
4. What should I prioritize first, getting a job in an insurance company, or immediately starting actuarial exams?
5. For people who were also lost right after graduation, how did you transition into the field?

I’m aware this is a long-term commitment and involves a lot of exams, but I’m willing to put in the work, I just need a realistic starting point.

Any advice, personal experiences, or even reality checks would be really appreciated.
