11mm cervix with funneling at 29w + 4d
We went in for a 3D scan just to see the baby in 3D. So far everything had been normal and risk free. The baby looked great, weighed 1.438kg but to our surprise we found out my wife’s cervix measured just 11mm with ample funneling. The lab technician explained us the severity of it and sent us to the hospital asap. This happened on 29w + 1d.
Today it takes us to 29w + 4d. In the meantime she was given two shots of steroids to make the baby’s lungs develop faster. Leading up to the day we discovered the shortness, there have been some contractions here and there but we interpreted them as BH because they are painless and irregular. But still the doctor decided to do a Antosiban drip for 45h just as a preventative measure. She has also taken vaginal progestrone every night for the last 3 nights. Now she is just under observation at the hospital.
BH scare us now because of the short cervix finding.
