early advice for soph trad transfer?

hi! i am an incoming freshman at a 4 year LAC. the college i committed to was by no means my first choice and i want to give it a fair shot but i am pretty confident that i am going to want to transfer. i’m trying not to base this decision too much off of prestige and rankings but thats def a factor. but i think my primary reasons are resources for my major and specific interests for my career and also social fit/atmosphere.

i guess im wondering at what point should i start preparing, and what should i be doing now or then to maximize my chances of a successful transfer to a t25 or ivy? also, how much do previous rejections (as a first year applicant) interfere with a new, transfer application to an ivy or t25? i know that some of these schools have VERY low transfer rates, but i guess im wondering if having previously been rejected when applying for a first year makes a transfer acceptance even more difficult?

also, any suggestions for things i should be doing this summer post hs grad and pre freshman year to set myself up for success? is it worth looking into getting a transfer counselor/counseling service? should i be doing specific things this summer like internships or is anything fine? and how should i be guiding myself going into first semester freshman year - top goals, things i must be doing, etc ?

thank u so much for any advice or insight u might be able to offer, and a huge congrats to everyone who got into their top choices this cycle!! 😌❤️
