Ghosted my request for feedback only to... ask for my feedback
Interviewed for the same exact role I'd left at my previous job. Got four interviews deep in a seven-interview process, was rejected with a form "moving forward with other candidates" email. No big deal, but after several hours invested and the last interview (project deep-dive) seeming to go well from my end, the rejection was kind of out of the blue.
I emailed the hiring manager and asked if there were any red flags during the call -- not to try and argue my case, but because I had more project deep-dive interviews with other companies and if I was saying something dumb it would be great to know so I could better explain my past work. No response.
I understand the whole "there are too many candidates for us to give everyone feedback" line but for folks well into the pipeline I feel like it's decent to just be honest. I always did that for candidates who asked, when I was hiring.
