Amazon local hub extortion & fake tracking scam on heavy items. Escalated to ECR/NCH, but will they stop?

I’m dealing with a massive headache with Amazon’s last-mile delivery network at my local hub (Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu), and I want to know if anyone else has successfully fought this.

I ordered a heavy piece of fitness equipment (a Welcare Maxpro treadmill). It ships perfectly fine until it reaches the final local delivery station. That’s where the scam starts. Because it’s a heavy, bulky item that requires a two-man crew and takes up van space, the local hub agents actively avoid delivering it.

Instead of doing their jobs, they have:

Demanded extortion money/unreasonable conditions just to drop it at my address.

Falsely updated the tracking system with "Customer Unavailable" or "Delivery Attempted" without ever coming near my house or calling me.

Forced order cancellations entirely without my consent just to clear the item out of their local queue and protect their daily performance metrics.

I refused to let this slide, so I filed a formal grievance with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH). Because of the legal/consumer court threat, Amazon’s Executive Customer Relations (ECR) team is now directly involved and actively "monitoring" my current replacement order, which is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

My concern is: what stops this local hub from just faking "operational constraints" (like a broken van or lack of staff) to dodge the delivery again, even with ECR watching?

Has anyone else dealt with this specific type of logistics fraud for heavy items? Does Amazon actually penalize these hub managers and enforce the delivery, or do they eventually just throw their hands up and refund the money?

Any advice on how to corner them if they issue another fake tracking update tomorrow would be hugely appreciated!

TL;DR: Amazon local hub refuses to deliver a heavy Welcare Maxpro treadmill, demands extra money, and uses fake tracking to cancel orders. I’ve escalated to NCH and Amazon ECR, but I'm worried the local hub will just fake another excuse. Looking for advice from anyone who has beaten this system
