14 year old suddenly disinterested in TV and electronics

my 14 year old autistic son also has global developmental delays and cerebral palsy. he is due to have a surgery soon to correct his hips, and although Ive explained it to him Im not sure he fully understands it. I only mention the hip thing because although he's never complained about pain, he's slowly stopped wanting to do things over the past year. suddenly he doesn't want to go to theme parks, and in the past few months even lost interest in swimming, something he used to love but he's remained a very happy boy.

At home he's always been someone that wants the TV on, often lining up his phone to play the theme songs to a switch game he's been playing. he's very good at video games but basically sensory noises never bothered him.

this weekend he suddenly didn't have an interest in gaming or watching anything on TV. When ive voiced my concern to my parents they said he's finally getting bored about not doing anything and while i hope thats all it is, i wonder if anyone else has experienced this?

I told him maybe he's just watching stuff that isn't interesting to him anymore because he does like to watch more babyish things like the mario movies or disney stuff so i put on a transformers show and he's half heartedly watching it.

Yesterday he did ask to go swimming on his own after saying no for a few months so maybe it is just boredom or growing up but i overthink everything 😞
