Just got my $1500 1984 Ranger running!
I bought it about a month ago. It was a farm truck for the past 24 years, I'm the first one to register it for insurance since 2002. Its a 7ft bed, 2.8 carbed v6, 4 speed manual, and 4x4. It needs a lot of little things but being a southern truck means it's really clean, no structural rust. I did new brakes, tires, removed all the egr stuff, redid the charging system wiring and replaced the alternator. So far I'm about $500 in and she runs well enough to drive around! As long as I don't try to drive on highways haha. It's top speed is about 65 rn. It needs some carb tuning especially. I also named him Hank and put a bumper sticker on as a reference to Hank Hill from King of the Hill. In the first few episodes he drives a ranger from this same generation! So I thought it was funny.
