Warspoon

My friends and I refer to these as warspoons. It comes from doing re-enactments and big camping events, the joke being that should the camp come under attack while cooking you can use the spoon to defend yourself. This was made from cherry and I shaped it using both hand and power tools. I am likely to put hiking points and fire grate/pot hooks on the but of the next ones.

Camp Spoon

Most recent spoon. My friends and I do alot of camping and large events so utensils I can reach across with or use for to move alot of mass are helpful. Used a small adze for the initial bowl and it might have been larger than originally intended.

Angler Fish

I got this plaque at a scrap craft store. And wanted to try making something with air drying clay. I'm probably going to hit it with another layer of highlights and if I do it again I think I will wire some kind of light in the lure.

Oven Rack Pushsticks

They are equally used to pull the racks also. This was one of those things I saw in a video made a couple without very high hopes used it, and and then made several more. I make mine with a bigger hook because I also use them to lift pots off of fires. I also add a little loop because I like to hang them next to the stove. I might also engrave eyes on the next set.

Warspoon

My friends refer to this as a warspoon. When we do camping events there are large pots and outdoor fires so length is practical and fun. Many of us also brew beer so a large spoon for wort is needed.

The joke is that one can both feed the camp and defend the camp should it come under attack when wielding it. The spoon itself is made of cherry and was carved using a variety of hand and power tools. I sometimes put a tip on them for hiking.

Small Cutting Board

In previous years I made larger serving style boards usually with a handle and often edge grain. Recently I got alot of Ambrosia Maple and fell in love with its coloring. However it also meant I had to fill the always present worm holes. This led to crushing turquise chips and inlaying them into the spots. The size of the board allows it to be used in a camper/rv at the request of my wife.

Infested Lantern Creature

I mostly do woodwork but I used to do props and after finding this lantern design for my laser, I decided to decorate it using air dry clays and paint techniques. I still have to rewire it as I was not happy with the initial results.
