Lingo Routinely Wrong
Just curious if anyone else has had issues with Lingo. I have been using it for about two weeks now, and I am on my third sensor already. The first sensor worked great for about 2-3 days, then I woke up one morning and my BG was well below 70 all night. I ate something and noticed my BG barely went up, so I checked with a finger stick. My BG was about 30 points above what Lingo was reporting. I wore the sensor a couple more days and randomly checking finger sticks, and consistently, Lingo had it 20-30 points lower. The problem persisted until it said that the sensor had ended early, please replace.
I reached out to Abbott, and they sent me a replacement. I had already bought 3 months worth, so I replaced with a second sensor. Same issue. Worked fine for a couple of days and then started reporting my BG way lower than it was and then again: "Replace sensor. Sensor ended early." Again, I reached out to Abbott and got a replacement. Yesterday, I changed to my third sensor, and this morning same issue. BG well below 70 and finger sticks show otherwise.
I follow all the directions as you're supposed to, cleaning the area with alcohol, applying the sensor appropriately, and I use covers to help keep them secure. The sensors are never loose nor have I seen any irritation at the application sites. I know about compression lows, so during sleep I get that it might be off, but once it goes wrong, it never seems to recover. I was just curious if other's have had similar issues or this is known problem with Lingo.
As some background: I'm a type 2 diabetic, diagnosed about 5 years ago. I lost a significant amount of weight, which put my DM into remission (or as my endo says "controlled" lol). My A1Cs are perfect, however recently I've been dealing with bouts of very low hypoglycemia, like 50-55 ranges, and I'm just trying to collect some data to see if I can figure out what's causing them. My insurance will not cover a CGM, so I decided to go the Lingo route because an out of pocket libre is like quadruple the cost.
