Moving to Ealing soon, thoughts on our building choice, AC, and family potential?

Hey everyone,

My partner and I are eying up a flat in Cavalier House. We really love the connectivity. Being so close to Ealing Broadway and the station for commuting into central London for work is a massive plus, and the fact that the flat comes with an allocated parking space is ideal.

Thought I'd ask locals a few questions before we commit:

  • The Air Conditioning: We noticed that the flat has integrated air conditioning which is pretty unusual for UK flats. Is the AC a luxury bonus, or is it there because the building has poor natural ventilation / gets unbearably hot due to the glass frontage? I'm slightly worried it might mean we can't easily get fresh air in without blasting it.
  • Driving in the area: Since the flat has parking, keeping the car there is sorted, but what’s it like navigating/driving around Uxbridge Road and the wider Ealing area? It seemed pretty busy when I went there on the weekend but is that the same on weekdays?
  • Family potential: We’re looking to scope out Ealing as a potential long-term area to settle down in. What is the wider area like in terms of houses and building a family? I know most local schools are oversubscribed but does Ealing have generally a decent rep?
