Trying to make a capelet starting with a mesh stitch but the math isn’t mathing
This is the first row and I can’t understand how we’re supposed to end up with at least 28 chain 5 spaces when we started with chain 78. It’s also saying we should have 19 meshes but how is a “mesh” different from a chain 5 space? It must be different because later in row 2 there’s supposed to be 3.5 meshes and I don’t know how you could have half a chain 5. I can tell that increases are mentioned but for the life of me I don’t know where or how many.
I don’t think of myself as a pattern noob. I’ve worked of written patterns and done mesh stitch before but up till this point I’ve always used free patterns. This is my first paid pattern. I’m afraid to buy another one if all of them are gonna go over my head this bad. Is the problem me or the pattern?
