AITA for calling my friend racist
I am 16F, arab and live in a predominately white country. I've never had an issue with this, people sometimes make snide remarks or stare at me but its very rare and it has never bothered me
A few weeks ago me and my friends were at a lebanese restaurant, where they had hired an arab belly dancer. My friends made jokes about how we're 'literally twins' and that I should go speak with 'my people'. I didnt take the joke to heart and even laughed along and they never made jokes about my race after that. All of them but ONE friend
This friend was DRAGGING it. She'd point at random brown-skinned men or women and ask if we're related, she once put her jacket on her hair as if to imitate a hijab and started 'acting like me' (I don't even wear a hijab ??), she'd hear me talking to my dad on the phone in arabic and start speaking gibberish as if to mock me or say something like 'who are you putting a curse on?'
It made me feel so annoyed and uncomfortable, I had told her to stop numerous times but she never did.
What really pissed me off is when we were in history class and the teacher mentioned the word 'terrorism' and she looked at me and said 'Your favourite hobby, right?' (if you don't know its a stereotype that all muslims are terrorists)
And recently after another one of these jokes I just snapped at her and told her that she was being an annoying bitch and that nobody found these jokes funny and It's just an excuse for her to be racist towards me, etc
Obviously she got mad and we had a pretty bad fight and now we're not speaking
Most of my friends are on my side and agree that she had no excuse to be acting this way, others say that she was just joking and that I shouldn't have caused drama over something so minor
So with that said AITA?
