I write Tuscaloosa Info, a free newsletter covering local restaurants, events, UA updates, and general things happening around town. Started it because I felt like a lot of local news/updates don't get much visibility.

Happy to answer any questions about it, and open to feedback on what kind of local content people actually want to see more of.

Posting this for anyone who hasn't seen it yet — regular move-in is Aug 14–15 this year, with a few early move-in groups (specific programs) going Aug 7,8. Worth checking the housing portal if you haven't locked in your slot.

A couple other things that changed recently if you're coming back to campus or new here:

Cajian just opened on University Blvd downtown Cajun/Creole counter-service, walkable from campus

Steak n' Shake is opening in Northport

New ALDI opened in Northport too if you're doing your own groceries

(I keep a running list of stuff like this for my own reference, kind of turned into a habit — happy to share how I track it if anyone's curious.)

Anyone have other updates — parking changes, dining hall stuff, anything new around campus?
