My friend is mad at me because I refused to share my personal notes/study guide that I spent weeks on. Am I the asshole here?
Hey everyone, I need some perspective. I’ve been prepping for a really important exam coming up, and I’ve spent the last month sacrificing my sleep, barely going out, and putting hours into making the perfect, comprehensive study guide.
My friend, who has been procrastinating and gaming all month, texted me yesterday asking if I could just "send over the guide" because they haven't started studying yet. I told them I’m down to study together or explain some topics, but I don't feel comfortable just handing over weeks of my hard work so they can get a free pass without putting in any effort.
Now they are calling me selfish and saying "friends are supposed to help each other out." Some people in our friend group are saying I should just give it to them to keep the peace. I feel like my boundaries are being disrespected. What should I do? Am I actually being selfish?
