Ultrasound results are in: Bilateral true gyno confirmed (16M)

I’ve been lurking here for a bit and finally decided to share my situation. I'm 16 years old, and I’ve been dealing with chest enlargement that has caused me a lot of insecurity. I finally went to a teaching hospital to get a professional evaluation and just got my ultrasound (USG B/L Breasts) results back.

The report confirmed that it is "likely gynecomastia". They found ill-defined, irregular hypoechoic lesions directly in the retroareolar region (right behind the nipples) on both sides. The measurements are:

Right side: 11.4 x 5.9 mm

Left side: 10.2 x 6.1 mm

On the bright side, the report noted no calcifications and normal axillary lymph nodes.

Knowing that it’s true glandular tissue and not just body fat is a bit of a relief, but dealing with this at 16 during high school is still really tough mentally. My hospital referred me to an endocrinologist to get my hormone levels checked out next.

Has anyone else around my age had similar measurements? Did your endocrinologist recommend just waiting it out for hormones to balance, or did you try any specific treatments? Would love to hear some advice or talk to anyone going through the same thing right now. Thanks
