Took Elvanse for a day and had to come straight off it

I took Elvanse for the first time yesterday. It was only 20mg as I discussed with my clinician that I had taken sertraline before and had to come off it due to side effects, so we decided to be cautious. It made a big difference to my ADHD symptoms. My brain felt quiet, I felt calmer and more content, and I was able to focus on my uni work for once. However, there was a big spike in my blood pressure, and it went up to 153/104 in the afternoon. I checked later, and it was 142/90, but that's obviously still high. I was a bit concerned but ultimately decided I was going to keep going with the medication and also closely monitor my blood pressure, but then I woke up this morning and my left eye was red and I'm pretty sure that this is due to high blood pressure. I also have costochondritis and that was finally starting to get better, but it's caused that to worsen again. After this, I decided not to take another tablet and rang my clinician who also told me to stop taking them. My blood pressure is back to normal today (118/84) so there are no issues with that; it was just the medication unfortunately. I'm feeling really defeated as it really helped, and now I feel like I'm not going to be able to find any medication that I can actually stay on, so was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar?
