Changing Therapists

Hello! I need some advice on changing therapists.

I started therapy for the first time in March and have been having one session a week.

The practice I went with had trainees, that were nearly qualified for a cheaper rate. I was assured that once they became qualified all that would change was the price and I would be able to keep the same therapist. I decided to go with the trainee and we've had 14 sessions up to now.

My therapist informed me 3 weeks ago that they were finishing their placement and tomorrow (1st June) would be our last session, I'm sad because I really like them.

I'm still undecided if I should carry on. We've gone through a lot of childhood trauma and I feel if I was to move onto another therapist I would have to start all over again. A lot of the reasons I am the way I am as an adult is because of childhood trauma.

I took to my current therapist right away and was really surprised, as I'm such an awkward person. I do believe it has been working and we've uncovered and discussed some very traumatic stuff.

What are people's suggestions and advice? Should I change? Take a break for now? Try to pick it back up with the same therapist next year. Try and find a longer term therapist and just start again? Drop down from one a week to every 2 weeks with someone new?

Any advice is welcome!

6 month (nearly) update!

I had my nails done on Thursday and took a picture of my natural nails to see the progress in my nail beds. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

The nails on my middle fingers on both hands are still a bit wonky and not fully re-attached but getting there.

Had to take a picture of the colour in the sun, it's so pretty!
