Stepping down as a driver when you're a stocker?

I've been driving for the past 4 years despite being hired as a stocker and not a permanent driver. I'm utilized like a full driver though, schedules are based around me being there to drive, so if I had wanted to not drive, there'd be no one to run trucks. Yesterday was my last straw though... Our building is doing heavy remodeling and the construction noise is deafening, yet we're not allowed to wear ear protection while driving for safety despite not being able to hear my own horn when going around corners. Construction guys don't pay attention and have almost hit me with their own lifts multiple times. It's not worth the $2 extra I get for 2 hours at the end of the night that equates to an extra $50 dollars a month after tax. I'm also deaf in one ear and have developed bad migraines that I deal with on a weekly basis that makes concentrating and feeling safe while driving very hard. It was overwhelming yesterday trying to deal with it so I got off the EPJ and talked to my manager about stepping down from driving for the foreseeable future. I'm terrified to go into work today... Does anyone have experience with stepping down as a stocker, despite being over utilized? I'm just wondering what to expect, I'm not trying to put a target on my back, but I feel like that's inevitable.

TLDR: I'm a driver that's a stocker, over used and relied on, not worth the money anymore with health issues and warehouse conditions. Looking for advice on what to expect with stepping down.
