How do you deal with legacy integrations that nobody wants to touch?

We have a few old integrations that are becoming a real headache. Documentation is limited, the people who built them are gone, and even small changes can break something else.

At what point do you stop fixing them and start thinking about replacing or modernizing them?

How do you know when it's time to let go of a legacy system?

We're at that awkward stage where the old system isn't completely broken, but it's becoming a pain to work with. Every change seems to uncover another dependency, and some of the integrations are so old that nobody wants to mess with them.

We're starting to look at modernization, but we're not sure whether to replace everything, gradually modernize it, or bring in an experienced partner to help us figure it out.

For those who've been through this, what worked for you?

How do you know when it’s the right time to replace your POS system?

We’ve been going back and forth on whether to keep improving our current POS or finally replace it. The existing system still works, but it’s getting harder to support new features and integrations. For those who’ve been through this decision, what made you realize it was time to move on instead of continuing to patch the old system?

Is it normal for one OMS integration to become a major bottleneck?

We're in the middle of an OMS implementation, and one integration is turning into a bigger challenge than expected. Curious if others have had a similar experience. Which integration caused the most headaches for your team?

In between a POS Implementation need thoughts on challenges you've experienced

We're about to modernize our POS and keep hearing that integrations are where projects slow down. Was it ERP, OMS, payment gateways, inventory, loyalty, third-party APIs, or something else? We'd love to hear what caught you off guard and any lessons you'd share.

We're evaluating Manhattan Active POS and trying to determine how much effort will really go into change management. For those who've made a similar move from a legacy POS, what caught you off guard after rollout?
