Should I pay for my step kid to go away?
My partner and I have been together for 2 years, we don’t live together yet but I spend most of my time there. I’m just curious on other people’s opinions mostly.
She has 50/50 custody with the childs dad and they split clubs etc. she buys her own uniform, bottles etc for him. But when it comes to holidays as a three, it’s always split in half. I don’t think it’s ever been something we’ve spoken about but I guess just expected on her behalf. She has less money obviously as being a single mum and stuff but I’m not well off at all I just have less bills. I don’t mind paying for half of holidays but I just thought, should I be?
For example she wants to go to take him on holiday abroad next year as he has never been, I love him lots but honestly if I’m paying to go away, I want to enjoy it and relax. He is 5 so there will be absolutely no relaxing for either of us. It might be selfish but I’m like, do I want to be paying upwards of a grand to go somewhere that I don’t really want to go just because he hasn’t been abroad before?
