In the most recent chapter of SSC, Sinmara has a sword that has the ability to cut space, basically the perfect duraneg weapon. It seemingly doesn’t even run on the user’s mana either. If Cid can pull something like this off without an artifact, he surely would reach the peak of swordsmanship. This is some Re:Zero Reid typa shit
Leaving it to the people to decide.
In the story we see, king to emperor level spells or sword attacks damage him fine. Rudeus’ king to emperor level stone cannons cut his skin pretty bad, and it’s said Eris’ sword of light is equal to each of those.
Does Orsted actively limit his dragon aura coating, or is this the maximum he can go up to with it? With his main power being the attacks he outputs, being techniques and spells? If he stood still like Badigadi did, how much could he take? Provided his mana limits are removed? Can he take a God-level spell to the face without having a significant portion of his mana dropped?
Let’s say Orsted has completed his mission so he’s unbound from the loops and is just living his life now. He is randomly transported to the dragon world back in ODT. How would he speak to his father? Would he speak to him like one does to a superior, or a father, or rather just like the way he does any other person we’ve seen in the story? Both seem to have similar personality traits in that they’re not hugely expressive, very succinct with the little words they convey and generally have a sorta ominous look to them.
•Fighting Demon God Laplace would take a lot of mana.
•Defending against Kalman 3’s gravity fracture would take a lot of mana.
•Battling Fighting God Badigadi (non-sentient suit) would require a fuckton of mana.
There are many such comments throughout the series like this. What do y’all imagine is the actual % of Orsted’s total pool these would take up? If they take up a large fraction of his total capacity, can we reliably scale Orsted above these folks by several orders of magnitude?
For example, if it took more than 50% of his mana fighting Demon God Laplace, can we really say he’s massively stronger than him? FGA Alek was a sort of different case, as he fighting him specifically to embarrass him and force him to capitulate, likely using nonsense spells instead of erasing him in 1 second. With Laplace, he wants to defeat him as quickly as possible in order to gain the treasure and have more time to regenerate the mana before deciding to activate the treasures.
We know it’s a fact that Rudeus’ mana was so high because he practiced magic as a kid and basically stimulated his mana to grow. Without his training as a kid, Orsted says he would’ve only had a mana pool slightly above average.
A person’s mana pool is predisposed from birth if they don’t train as a kid (until 10 IIRC), but that doesn’t necessarily mean their mana is the same at 1 years old as it is when they’re 10.
Going back to what I said about Rudeus, the first time he casts a beginner-level waterball, his mana is exhausted after making 2. Now obviously, all mana being used up with 2 water balls isn’t anywhere close to average, let alone above average.
So what I think is that people’s mana pools slowly grow until they’re 10 naturally, but training before they’re 10 increases their mana capacity cap, and the stimulation of mana while they’re growing helps increase their total mana capacity overall. One they were previously “predisposed” with, if not for said training.
Is this an agreeable read of what Rifujin has stated in the story narrative?

The blade, fed with a tiny fraction of Rudeus’ mana and some of Eris’, managed to compress Badigadi’s body into literally nothing. The pressure needed here would be on order of 10³⁰ - 10³⁵ pascals, which is very absurd.
The first time Hitogami ever set his sights on Rudeus. Exactly how I would have imagined it.

The question is, how fast would it be for a 1-kilometre wide rock to literally look like it was teleporting, off of its sheer speed, from afar (and digging hundreds of metres into the ground)? The description of the rock being formed in the air suggests it was probably at least a full width (of its body) above the ground, visually-speaking. From a few kilometres away (Rudeus’ POV) it looked like it blipped from its starting position to the deep ground. I would think the time-frame for this could be in the low-milliseconds.
For reference, a spherical rock with a diameter of 1 kilometre would weigh 1.4e12 (1.4 trillion) kilograms. For it to cover ~1500 metres in, say 10 milliseconds (arbitrary) would require a speed of around 150000m/s (Mach 437). The kinetic energy of such a heavy and fast-moving object would come out to 1.59e22 Joules (3.8 Teratons of TNT ~ over 60,000× more powerful than the strongest nuclear weapon on Earth, Tsar Bomba).
Effects of kinetic impacts are much more localised than thermobaric/nuclear explosions, hence why a country‘s worth of land area wasn’t just wiped off the map here. Though disbelief still needs to be suspended for this, as it would‘ve still caused more damage than shown/described in the actual moment. The energy result would be quite consistent with how strong Laplace’s explosion spell was to split the Ringus Sea as, though Rudeus’ spell is still quite a bit weaker, it’s not WAAAAY far off and is actually approaching that level. Narratively, this was basically his strongest spell to date before he pulled up the nuke spell right after.

I‘m very curious on how the anime will portray this moment. I just brought this up for fun now after rereading the fight in both the LN and WN. What do y’all think?
