Am I understanding correctly that if you have the option enabled to transcode HEVC to HEVC it will preserve the hdr data but you still need an HDR screen to play it without a washed out color look? And by doing so tone mapping is not needed because it's HDR?

And by transcoding HEVC to H264 the hdr is stripped only leaving SDR which requires tonemapping?

I see in my testing I can get the tonemapping to work by turning off the HEVC transcode, but tone mapping will not work when I have it enabled.

Edit: is there no way to allow both the hevc transcodes but apply the tonemapping on an sdr screen if I need without having to swap to the other option in my settings every time?
