I'm still fairly new to tournaments and had a few questions for the experienced players.

1. What actually triggers tournament entry? Is it when I tap Play, or when I complete the first puzzle and find the last word? If it's the latter, can I take my time on that first puzzle, or do I need to swipe the final word quickly?

2. Does collecting rewards from a star animal (such as a giraffe, lion, etc.) trigger tournament entry and register me and my team in the tournament?

3. What delay strategies are people using these days? Last weekend I delayed about 4 hours and finished 5th. First place scored around 13k and second scored 11k, so it was still a pretty competitive bracket. Are there particular times that tend to attract less competitive groups?

4. Will special event animals ever return? I missed animals like the Turkey, Polar Bear, Rock, Octopus and some of the older event animals. Do they come back in rotation, or are they gone permanently?

Interested to hear what strategies and experiences others have had.

How does a team get such large score swings? In our weekend tournament we would often be 10k up and then out of nowhere be 10k down really quickly with a lot of our strong players playing.

We would then catch up get infront - then same thing would happen again. Time and time again.
