Is anyone else experiencing issues with transferring/activating an esim in a new device?

I have been waiting 2 days for my service to activate after a transfer.

Speaking to Telstra customer service they have informed me that there is a "technical issue" for such processes ATM and I should wait 3 to 5 business days.

Call me cynical but I refuse to believe this is a real issue, and that it will take 5 days. They would not let a new customer walk out of a store without cellular service so surely I am being lied to.
