Could someone tell me what’s wrong with my typewriter

Could someone tell me what’s wrong with my typewriter

I’ve had this Olympia Electric 45 typewriter for a long time, and recently I decided to try restoring it because it stopped working years ago.

I opened it up to inspect it and noticed that the motor does spin, but the belt itself does not move properly. I checked the belt and it actually seems to be in pretty good condition — not melted, cracked, or broken.

From what I can tell, there seems to be some kind of mechanism/clutch system that engages the motor movement to the belt, but that part appears to be failing somehow. I inspected the mechanism and visually it still seems relatively intact and in decent condition.

Could anyone tell me what issue I might be dealing with here? Maybe a slipping clutch, hardened rubber, seized mechanism, or something else?

I’ve attached a video in slow motion below.

Olimpia electric 45 stoped working

I’ve had this Olympia Electric 45 typewriter since I was a kid. It originally belonged to my grandmother, and I remember using it once years ago, but the next day it suddenly stopped working.
Now I’m trying to restore it. When I plug it in, I can hear a very faint humming/buzzing noise, but only if I put my ear close to the metal body. The machine itself doesn’t really do anything otherwise.
I opened it up and checked the belts, and honestly they seem to be in relatively good condition to me — not melted or broken from what I can tell. (Are these actually the belts people usually refer to when talking about belt problems on electric typewriters?)
So now I’m wondering:
Could it still be the belts somehow?
Could it be a seized motor, capacitor, old grease, fuse, or something else?
Has anyone worked on one of these Olympia Electric 45 machines before?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’d really love to get this thing working again.
Thanks!
