Modern MMA Training Gear Research (modified from MMA Thread)
Hey all,
I'm starting this thread from an industry research point of view. To be transparent, I'm very much in the industry. My name is Alex Wright. I'm the owner of a business called Fightstorepro and also the brand director for the REVGEAR MMA brand that is based in the USA.
I'm not here to promote either business in any way. I may well post specifically about the REVGEAR brand, but again in a research context.
I've been around since the early MMA days in the UK and been doing the sports for over 30 years. Here's where the rubber meets the road.
I'm now over 50 and truth is my experience is almost clouding my viewpoint.
Anyone with view points on trends on any of the following or your own experiences I'd really like to know:
- MMA gloves trends - The new move toward bigger sparring gloves; practicality in clinch and grappling thoughts?
- Womens MMA Gear (Or lack of it)
- The Knee pad shin pad combo in MMA - ONX's version looks good but have not used
- Boxing Gloves versus MMA Gloves in modern training (We used 4oz or 16 oz depending on training day)
- Coaches - Thoughts on Thai pads for MMA; is there a better option for modern MMA coaching
- Thigh, calf and body protection for coaches
- What style of mitts are best for MMA gloves
- I want to run a whole separate thread on MMA shorts and apparel in modern MMA
