Struggling with Chronic Sleep Issues Tied to a Specific Flat in Bangalore — Has Anyone Experienced This?

Background

I've been dealing with intermittent sleep problems for over a year, and I've noticed a very specific pattern — they almost always flare up when I'm living in my flat in Bangalore. I'm hoping someone here has faced something similar or can point me in the right direction.

How It All Started

The problems actually began back in Rajasthan, when I moved into a new flat. The mattress used to get unusually hot, and that's when the sleep issues first appeared — roughly 2–3 days a week. It was manageable, but noticeable.

A Brief Period of Relief

When my company relocated me to Bangalore, I initially stayed in a PG. Surprisingly, my sleep was completely fine there — no issues whatsoever. It felt like the problem had resolved itself.

Things Got Worse in the Flat

About a month after shifting to my own flat in Bangalore (starting July 5th), my sleep deteriorated severely. I tried sleeping pills, but they didn't help. After about 1.5 months of this, I returned to my hometown in a pretty bad state — and oddly, faced similar (though milder) issues there too for 1–2 months before slowly recovering.

The Pattern Keeps Repeating

Every single time I return to my Bangalore flat, the same thing happens. Right now, I've even tried sleeping at a friend's flat, but as of today (May 21, 2026) there's been no improvement yet.

The Specific Symptom I Keep Experiencing

Every morning, my legs feel extremely restless — not painful, just intensely uncomfortable and agitated. I've looked into Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), but I don't believe that's what this is, as the pattern and triggers don't quite match.

What I've Already Tried

  • Sleeping pills (no effect)
  • Consulted a psychiatrist and neurologist (both gave generic advice — exercise, medication, etc.)
  • Sleeping at a friend's place (ongoing, no change yet)

Any personal experiences, leads, or suggestions are genuinely appreciated. This has gone on long enough and is seriously affecting my health and quality of life.
