People say that the Crown Vic was the last "old-school" and "traditional" American sedan, but i feel like Taurus held that tittle after the Crown Vic died.

Yes. Its not wd or body on frame. But it's Ford last "big" sedan right after the Crown Vic died, compare it to the Fusion from that era and it looks very bulky, bigger and somewhat "archaic", just like most traditional American sedans felt. Also the fact that it was mostly used by police fleet and older demographic.
