Hey guys, I’m revisiting a [[Volrath, the Shapestealer]] deck and was wondering about an interaction with creatures from the enduring cycle like [[Enduring Curiosity]]. Let’s say my scenario is this:

1. I control Volrath and Enduring Curiosity. Someone puts a spell on the stack to blow up Volrath, I respond by making him a copy of Enduring Curiosity.
2. Volrath returns to the battlefield as a noncreature enchantment version of himself.
3. If I then activate his ability to make him a copy of another creature, does he become a noncreature enchantment version of that creature?

As far as I can tell Volrath’s ability functions on layers 1, 6 and 7b, whereas Enduring Curiosity operates on layer 4. Because nothing in Volrath’s activated ability explicitly states that he regains the creature card type, does he remain an enchantment?
