508-> 517 in 7 days????

Looking for help interpreting these scores. I did zero studying between these two FLs… everyone here says Kaplan maybe mildly deflates but I’m confused about this jump. Hard to believe the 517 is a fluke. Thoughts???

Both tests I followed timing to a T, took my breaks exactly as meant to, and ate/had coffee only at the right times. Only difference was that the first one I started around noon and the second one around 10am. Not testing til September but ??? Wondering what to think 🧐🧐🧐

EDIT TO ADD: I bought the 6 aamc tests, taking it in sept, and also bought the cheapest Kaplan package (I think 12 FL and 3000PQ). I’d be totally happy with a 517 on the real thing. Should I just take another real aamc now or wait til beginning of august as I was planning? Not that I would stop studying, but just to take some pressure off? Also I’ll add that I’m currently taking both physics with lab so I’m in class 18ish hours/week plus an hour commute there and back every day so I’m not really getting much real PQ practice in outside of FLs

First FL 508 today, what’s next?

Took my first FL today. I have the aamc bundle and I bought the 12FLs + 3000 practice questions from Kaplan. Done with content review. Wondering what I should be doing now? Just rip 8 hours of practice questions a day? Hoping (and think it’s realistic) to get ~520, given my background/undergrad. But just don’t know what’s a reasonable plan going forward with FLs etc vs practice Qs. Testing sept 11 so kinda lots of time, kinda not enough lol

Thanks for any help

JW concerns

i have been studying for the last month or two, started off trying to do as much as i can without paying for anything other than aamc, so im using mostly khan academy for content review and jack westin for passages (not looking for feedback on this plan, just giving context).

so i decided to hop on a jack westin live session about CARS strategies. it's taught by THE guy, jack westin, and the TA is gassing Jack up the whole time in the chat. Also, the TA has his camera on, but Jack never shows his face. And the whole thing is more like a motivational speech about "You Got This!" and "growth mindset" etc. than anything resembling an MCAT strategy. But the 200-something people on the call are eating it up in the chat.

Maybe I'm grasping at straws, but I think it's weird. There's no info about THE Jack Westin (person) on the internet, but somehow recently (past few years) HIS company has become the premier (only) free passage-study method. There's no way to check validity of passages and answers, but we all blindly follow whatever this man says! And that, combined with the expansion of free materials last month (the books) and the email that went out today about a free course they're coming out with, AND the chrome extension that explains answers on the AAMC FLs. I am skeptical of putting all my faith in this guy (unaccredited), but not sure what other option there is. Anyone else find something sketchy about JW (company AND guy)?

I'm less concerned about finding better study strategies/resources for myself and more concerned that we are blind lemmings following this guy off a cliff lol
