The more you know

So pvc cutters broke on me today and I only had two more heads to pop on yet no way to cut my swing pipe…. For all those who suffer the same smokeless tobacco addiction I do be aware, the center tab from the cans lid “if popped out” is sharp enough to cut through swing pipe…. Not exactly most professional but if your up chits creek without a paddle it gets the job done.

Should I find a new employer

So last commercial bid my boss threw out we’ve had nothing but problems because it was a “Florida” designed system. I have a job that landed in my lap for a commercial install. I ask the boss if he wants me to plan utilizing swing joints which I am accustomed to on most commercial plans or installs, or flex joints which we use on most residential….. he asked me to clarify…. If you own an irrigation company and don’t know the difference between swing joint head connections vs flex connections I don’t know what to say….

Anyone else hate how cheap HOA’s are

So this is about the fifth time in 6 months we’ve had to dig this section up and repair lines first time I’ve been out here….. it’s on one of those turnarounds before an access gate welp fire truck decided the boulder needed to move so they moved it for them out of the kindness of their hearts and broke through this line, I’m telling them honestly to saddle the lines down and get them out from being 2” below grade on a corner trucks drive over…. Well can’t budget that so guesse I’m back to “Florida” irrigation and just make a repair. I just know I have contractors and techs saying oh well that wasn’t done right and this wasn’t done right well this is testament that customers don’t want right they just want fixed for now as cheap as they can 🤦‍♂️
