Terrence Tao is in the Epstein files

Clickbait title…but now that you’re here, could you help me out:

I’m aiming to qualify for AIME through either the 12A or B this November…I haven’t had a big competition math background and I took one of the recent AMC 12’s a few weeks ago and was able to get like the first 9 questions correct.

My strategy is to review problems/lessons in AOPS and spam problems which I would then review with AI/relevant AOPS problems.

Do you guys think this is the best way to qualify if I can genuinely put in 15-20 hours a week? also, what are some good resources other than previous exams to “spam problems”?

“Best”/most efficient/effective way to qualify for AIME

(Repost)

so basically I’m a rising junior with minimal competion math experience…last year I got like a 37 or something like that on the AMC 10. this year I’m taking both the 12A and 12B and want to qualify.

i took like a practice exam a few weeks ago on a recent previous amc 12 and was able to get like the first 9-10 questions correct.

i was wondering what the absolute “best” way to study is(I’m in a normal accelerated math track at school for context). I can put in around 15-20 hours a week until then.

Can I qualify for AIME if I’m a chud?

I know this is a “bad” question…

But how would it look to Harvard REA specifically, if my transcript says I have a 3.84 unweighted gpa, but I also had:

- perfect grades junior year(imperfections were in frosh/soph year)

-counselor explains that frosh/soph year imperfections were due to mental health issues, and I grew from it and performed perfectly junior year

-worst grades on transcript were B+’s in humanities classes(I’m applying as a stem major)

-I took max rigor( like 6 aps)

-35 ACT

-no hooks, competitive region, feeder school(to t20’s, not necessarily HYPSM feeder)

Can a chud get AIME qual???

Hey everyone, I’m a rising Junior taking the AMC 12A and 12B in November. Last year, without any real competitive math experience, I got a 39 on the amc 10. So far, I’ve been doing practice problems and going through AOPS Vol 1 and doing the problems at the end and reading through the lessons.
a few weeks ago I think I was able to get like the first 8-9 questions on an AMC 12 from recent years but have trouble with the rest.

i was wondering what the absolute best way to maximize my chances of qualifying this year would be. I’m able to dedicate around 2-3 hours a day over the summer and 1-2 o during the school year and probably more on weekends.

thanks in advance!

What elo would I be based on my USATT?

getting a meta vr thingy soon, and IRL I’m rated around ~2000 in USATT. I was wondering what I could expect my elo to be on 11 right off the bat, and how to get to 3800+ elo. thanks!
