Eleven Table Tennis helped me WIN a prize at a resort vacation a couple years ago

This is not a joke I promise. I do not have a table tennis table at home, I had one when I was much younger but was just okay. I got into VR around the year when the quest 2 came out, got it on launch day. Then fast forward and the quest 3 comes out and I can play on a ping pong table anywhere I want in my now house that I own (I haven't played ping pong in at least 5 years at this point).

I am just playing for the fun of it, but the more I play, the better I get at virtual Ping Pong. I always wondered while playing if this is just the game helping slightly or if I'm actually getting pretty decently good at table tennis.

Fast forward again - going on a family trip with my wife, my family and all that jazz at a resort. We're sitting by the pool when some workers walk up and announce a table tennis tournament and bring the table out.

I run up just to see what's gonna happen, not expecting to win, just having fun. There are 6 people total. If you lose, you're out. My older brother plays me the first round (he ALWAYS use to beat me when I was younger, not a huge age difference, he was just better).
I absolutely SMOKE HIM. And at this point I'm like wow, okay that's one win, doesn't mean much.

I beat the second round guy, hitting curved shots and below table saves (against a windy beachy outdoor pool area mind you) and multiple corner shots that he can't react to.

3rd round, this is the championship (so I think, and was told). I beat him by a couple shots and think I've won the prized resort coffee (for my wife), NOPE. There was a 7th guy who just so happened to show up and get added randomly at the end and they state that I have to play him in order to win (he hasn't even played any other rounds, I couldn't let him win and would be kind of upset if he did).

I am not won to win tournaments or prizes, like... ever. But I am not sure what took over me but by the grace of all things holy I was hitting shots I thought I could only do in VR. It was a crazy match, he was up my 3 to start and then I had to lock in and I guess I did cause it turned into 7-3 (I'm up). We continue to play, he gets some very lucky shots but a couple I end up saving that literally were a couple inches from the ground.

It's now 10-9, if I score I win. I end up serving super well and he goes back to me, I do the same left to right and then all of a sudden he hits it to where its just high enough for my favorite forehand spin/slap shot. He almost fell backwards, I felt like Marty Supreme before I even knew who that was, but looking back, I was him in that small moment for some coffee beans.

All of this to say, I think it's kind of cool that a VR game so well made can actually have an impact on real world skill, and I believe this is proof of it.

TLDR: Family trip, poolside windy table tennis tournament hosted by the resort, had to play an extra entire round to secure the magical coffee beans to be the winner, I attribute this success to Eleven Table Tennis

Whats with the matchmaking in this game

from 1500-1800 nobody actually tries to play table tennis they either hit the ball with the most unnatural spin ever or do some cheese bullcrap or they just sit there barely even playing the game

Best 3D printable Quest 3 adapter for real TT players? (Tried Bonwasy, very good feeling but weight balance feels off)

Hi everyone,

I play competitive table tennis in real life, and I'm looking for a 3D printable adapter (STL files) for the Meta Quest 3 that actually replicates the weight distribution and balance of a real paddle.

I recently printed the Bonwasy adapter (no battery cover version). While the tracking is perfectly fine, the weight balance feels completely wrong to me. The center of mass just isn't right, and when I go back to playing with my real-life setup, it feels totally different and messes up my muscle memory during fast transitions.

I know SolidSlime is highly praised here, but buying and shipping it to Italy isn't an option for me right now. I'd rather print it obv

I use a shakehand grip (flared handle preferred). Are there any high-quality printable designs (free or paid STLs) that focus heavily on a realistic center of gravity?

Alternatively, if you successfully tuned the balance on a printable adapter using specific slicer settings (like gradient infill, perimeters, or adding physical weights/coin slots), please let me know your setup.

Any recommendations for STLs that nailed the balance for real club players? Thanks!

Revised Ranking System

Just wondering: why was the full list of players removed from the ElevenVR dashboard? Can understand the reason why you emphasize the importance of recency, but why change the dashboard so players are unable to see where they rank if they haven't played for several weeks or longer? I'm in the 2200s, so I used to be able to keep hitting the "More" button at bottom of screen and it would eventually show me my ranking...
