EDPB guidelines for CIPP/E

Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing for the CIPP/E exam and had a question regarding the EDPB guidelines.

There are quite a lot of EDPB guidelines available, but the CIPP/E Body of Knowledge only explicitly references certain ones. For those of you who have recently taken the exam, did you find that questions were limited to the guidelines listed in the Body of Knowledge, or did the exam also test concepts from other EDPB guidelines that aren’t specifically mentioned there?

Also how much do you think I need to focus on the EDPB guidelines as I noticed some are quite extensive?

I’m trying to study efficiently and would appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks in advance!

Spironolactone reduced to 25 from 50mg and period changes

Hi everyone! I’m 25F and have been diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism since 2019. I’ve been taking Euthyrox 75 mcg and was taking spironolactone 50 mg for quite some time (perhaps 3 years). In April 2026, I decided (after discussing it with a doctor) to reduce my spironolactone dose to 25 mg. I also take Omega-3, Vitamin D3 + K2, Magnesium bisglycinate, Zinc complex (with selenium, copper and chromium), B-complex, Spearmint tea, and as of recently Myo-inositol + D-chiro-inositol (40:1 ratio). I am 167cm tall and 70kg.

For the last 2–3 years, my periods have actually been fairly regular and usually arrive on time. However, this month my period is now 20 days late, which is very unusual for me.

Some background:
My thyroid is well controlled.
My fasting glucose is normal (82 mg/dL).
Fasting insulin is around 29.3 pmol/L (~4.9 µIU/mL).
SHBG is 44.8 nmol/L.
Total testosterone is 1.60 nmol/L and free androgen index 3.6.
My gynecologist previously told me my ovaries do not have the typical polycystic appearance, and on one ultrasound they thought I was probably ovulating.
My metabolic profile and kidney function are normal.
I’m wondering whether reducing spironolactone from 50 mg to 25 mg could have delayed ovulation or caused my period to be late, or whether this is just something that can occasionally happen with PCOS even after years of regular cycles.

Has anyone experienced a delayed period after lowering their spironolactone dose? If so, did your cycles normalize again after a while?

CIPP/E official textbook and updates

Hi all, I plan to take the CIPP/E exam later this year, most likely in August or September 2026, and I intend to begin my preparation shortly using the currently available official resources.

Do you think that the third edition of the official textbook might get updated soon and how long in advance they would publish this kind of an information? I see the current book is from 2023.

Also do you think that there will be any substantial or planned changes to the exam content, format, the Body of Knowledge expected around this timeframe that could significantly affect candidates preparing with the current materials?
