Return to sender best practices
Hi--I recently shipped a small order ($4 plus shipping) and just had it returned to me for insufficient address. As a seller, how do you handle returned packages? If the order were bigger I would just eat the cost to ship again, but with such a small order I am wondering if best practice is to alert the buyer that the package was returned and just issue a refund minus cost of shipping. Can I say that if they still want the item they are welcome to place a new order, or is that shitty? I checked the buyer address in PayPal and it is also missing an apartment number, but when I look at the address in google maps it is an apartment building, so I don't think this is my error.
