Looking for an east coast destination for a beach vacation at the end of July. Can't be any more south than North Carolina as we will be driving.

Places we have been that we love- Tybee Island, GA Sanibel Island, FL, Cumberland Island GA, OBX, NC.

Places that we liked but don't need to go back to/looking for a different vibe- Maine, Vermont

We like to ride bikes, go to the beach, eat at restaurants, go to little shops, see tide pools, go on nature tours/ boat rides, kayak

We will be visiting the PNW from the East Coast at the end of July, from a Saturday to Wednesday. After traveling we will pretty much have half a day Saturday, full day Sun., Mon. and Tues. and maybe a little time in the morning on Wednesday.

I'm trying not to pack too much in to the point where it would be overwhelming but there's a lot I'd like to see. The items I'm looking for are:

-whale watching

-tide pools

-nice beach town (with some shops and restaurants)

-scenic drives

-would like to spend at least one day in Olympic National Park

We're big on nature but not big on hiking.

Two different options im thinking of are:

1. Fly into Port Angeles. Go whale watching from Port Townsend. Spend two days in Olympic National Park doing Hoh Rainforest, Ruby Beach and Rialto Beach. Spend the last day traveling the coast? Fly back out of Port Angeles or Seattle

2. Fly into Portland. Go whale watching from Depoe Bay. Travel up the coast to Seaside/Cannon beach. Drive to ONP and spend one day (probably in the rain forest). Fly out of Seattle.

Would love some suggestions on what would be too much/too little or if anyone has better itinerary ideas than I have listed here. Thanks!
