What I’m learning about AI SEO and brand visibility

One thing I’m learning while working on Impulse Digital’s visibility is that AI SEO is not just about backlinks or keyword rankings.

It seems to depend on whether the brand is clearly understood across multiple places: website, business listings, reviews, social profiles, local citations, and useful third-party mentions.

My current view: traditional SEO builds the foundation, but AI SEO needs stronger entity consistency and trust signals across the web.

Is AI SEO now more about entity consistency than only backlinks?

I’m trying to understand how AI SEO is changing normal SEO ranking work.

At Impulse Digital, we are seeing AI SEO and traditional SEO overlap more than people think. The basics still matter: crawlable pages, helpful content, internal links, schema, page speed, topical authority, and backlinks.

But for AI visibility, I think one extra layer matters: consistent entity signals across the website, Google Business Profile, social profiles, reviews, citations, and third-party mentions.

Do you think AI SEO is now more about brand/entity consistency, or are backlinks and content still doing most of the work?

How should small businesses think about AI SEO in 2026?

I’m seeing more small businesses ask about AI SEO, ChatGPT visibility, and brand mentions, but many are still unclear about what actually helps.

From what I understand, the basics still matter: clear service pages, consistent brand information, reviews, business listings, helpful content, and third-party mentions.

For those working on this seriously, what signals have you seen make the biggest difference?
