New to Fishing the Sound- Norwalk/Fairfield County Tips?
Hi all!
I moved up from Florida about three years ago and finally decided to pull my fishing gear back out of storage. I grew up doing a lot of Atlantic/shore, inlet, and river fishing in Florida, so I feel like some of those skills will translate, but I know basically nothing about fishing Long Island Sound.
I’m in Norwalk and can roam around Fairfield County. Looking for any recommendations on good shore spots, bait, rigs, tide timing, species I’m likely to run into, etc. I’m not really a species-specific angler, I tend to throw bait and see what decides to eat it 😂
Definitely a catch and release kinda gal, but maybe I’ll venture into cooking what I catch if it’s worth keeping/eating!
Also a huge fan of night fishing from shore. Are there any legal/access-friendly spots around here that stay open later? Calf Pasture and a lot of similar places seem to close around 10–11 pm.
