Molecular virologist looking for postdoc or research positions, open to leads and advice
Hi everyone,
I am a molecular virologist currently looking for a postdoctoral position. I completed my PhD in 2023 and then joined a postdoc in the US. Due to funding cuts and visa constraints, my postdoc ended earlier than expected, and I am currently bound to a two-year home residency. Right now I am working as a Research Assistant while actively applying internationally.
My background is in host-pathogen interactions, with a focus on viral persistence and immune evasion. My PhD work characterized drug-resistant herpesviruses from clinical patients. My postdoc was on viral latency, lentiviral vector engineering, and gene regulation. I am also a contributing author on a Nature Communications paper from 2025.
I want to understand how viruses manipulate host biology and use that understanding to develop therapeutic strategies. Beyond basic virology, I am genuinely interested in viral vector design and gene therapy, CAR-T cell engineering, and emerging virus biology.
I am open to postdoc positions, research scientist roles, or industry positions. Geographically I am targeting Europe, Australia, and Japan but genuinely open to good opportunities elsewhere.
If anyone has leads, knows of labs hiring, or has navigated a similar transition, I would really appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks
