Phone assessment 2 hours long!!!!

Omg please tell me this is normal !!!

I had my phone assessment this morning ADHD, autism harm OCD.

The man was very nice he was a paramedic and asked multiple questions everything from the form, to work, to school, going out etc but the call lasted 2 hours 7 minutes! I'm so confused as I wrote a lot of detail on my form.

My other half was with me and helped odd time by answering with me or prompting me etc.

What I'm worried about is he said the DWP receive the report and then might have further questions if they do he will give me a call back which likely would be 5-10 minutes --- is this normal? I asked him if that's common he said it's not but it will definitely be him who calls if they do.

I feel like I've massively messed up 😭

Telephone assessment Monday

Hello, I was really hoping for some help like advice or information. Anything that someone can offer really about what to expect from a telephone assessment with Serco or generally the health assessors?

I'm really worried because reading online there's multiple people that say they misinterpret information or aren't always very truthful and I'm just really scared about what to expect.

How long did the assessments usually last on average?

What types of questions might they ask?

I did write a lot of detail on my form but idiotically I didn't keep a copy of it. Are they going to quote the form?

I'm not a liar and I have been completely truthful on the form but I get flustered on the spot and struggle to say full information.

My medical information isn't great. I'll admit that I've always avoided going to the doctors and always just assumed they'd give you drugs so never sought help. My other half pretty much does everything for me. He reminds me to do everything from brushing my teeth to eat. I've lost multiple jobs over the years and after my current employer nearly put me on an improvement plan I broke down and kind of explained to them how I'm struggling nearly losing this job and the pressure I put on my other half is finally pressed me to seek out.

Since then, a mental health practitioner has put me on a fast track referral for ADHD and autism idiotically. I declined the autism one as I panicked being given so much information. My assessment has been booked and it's been 4 months I've only just received an update for the ADHD assessment and that's not until 3 weeks after the appointment with the telephone assessor. I've been told from talkworks I have harm OCD And I've just started CBT with them. I have since accepted the referral for autism. I think it was just a lot of information given at once and I panicked. I did get told to post the new information to DWP about the ADHD assessment being booked now harm OCD and that I've accepted the autism referral so I did this but phoning them today. They said that it takes 3 weeks of them to process any new information so it will never get there in time for my assessor. The person on the pip phone actually said he'd advise. I don't tell them I've posted information as this could delay my report coming back. But to mention the information that I've posted doesn't tell them about the assessment being booked. Tell them about the referral being made and tell them about harm OCD.

I feel like because I haven't had a formal diagnosis yet and I work. I'm just going to get laughed off the phone. I'm really lucky. My employer is really supportive and they go out of their way to adapt to me since I've opened up to them and told them what's going on. For example, I work from home full-time. Anyway, I have the option to log off. If I feel I'm burning out. My employer knows that sometimes I'll get distracted and you know it might be several hours and you know then I'll have to come back to it so she's very helpful by letting me extend breaks etc.

I'm really worried can anyone offer any advice information on what to expect?

Getting pip assessment recorded

Hello 👋

Asking for opinions...

Is it normal to ask for the pip assessment telephone call to be recorded? I've read everywhere assessor's are not entirely truthful and my memory is awful. A lot of people are recommending you ask for it to be recorded so it seems like quite a common thing.

I phoned Serco today and asked if my appointment can be recorded by them and the woman on the phone seemed so confused. She asked me if I was asking if I can record on my end, I said no I have no way of doing that I'm asking if they can record it.

She said she'll tick a box and make a note but her whole tone was very confused like it's not a common thing to ask for .... I'm really worried now I've already caused issues before I even have my assessment.

I also mentioned I will need to have my partner sit with me whilst they phone because my mind can go blank and he will need to support me not to answer for me but to give me support. The woman just said oh yeah you don't need to tell us that you can just have it on loudspeaker...

Does this sound normal ? I had new evidence to give serco before my assessment (typically new evidence come same day the SMS for assessment come) and serco told me to post to DWP who then pass onto them... My assessment is 6th July I'm bricking it they won't have the new evidence.

Telephone assessment HELP!

Hello everyone

So I need help please I've been an idiot and I've not kept or made a copy of my form before sending it off. I know roughly what I said but I filled every page and added additional pages for the odd section so I did go into as much details as I could.

I've applied for pip for ADHD /autism. They've booked a telephone assessment which I received the text for today. I am absolutely petrified now as I don't know what questions they ask and if they ask questions on the form what if I miss details I wrote down ?

No one completed the form for me but my other half did sit down with me and I took my time going through it with him helping me. I'm hoping my other half can attend the assessment call with me but I'm just hoping someone can help work giving me an idea on what they might ask?

My provider is Serco and I'm based in SW

Does anyone have any information on if this means they are currently reviewing the file or is it just sat in someone's work load now?

Also does anyone have rough timescales for Serco southwest? How long before you hear about an appointment?

PIP Southwest serco

Hello 👋

I was really hoping for some advice. I've applied for pip and trying to research how long everything takes and when they backdate it to if you're successful. Also are there any clues to know if you will get a paper based assessment?

29/01/2026 - I posted asking for a form (I know should've phoned)

27/02/2026 - received pip form 1

04/03/2026 - posted back pip form 1

02/04/2026 - received pip2 form

07/04/2026 - sent pip form 2 and evidence back

09/04/2026 - SMS from DWP saying pip2 form posted (confused)

17/04/2026 - SMS DWP confirmed received pip2 form

11/05/2026 - SMS from Serco saying they're managing the file

08/06/2026 - SMS DWP health professionals looking at claim

I'm not sure what to expect here, if Serco just book assessments and how long it takes before I'll get an update for this. How fast the process is and is there any indicators you'll get a paper based?
