I am on 10 mg Escitalopram. Came across a post on twitter saying SSRI's has caused life long problems for them.

I wasn't aware of this. I would have not started it if I knew it was so harmful.

Please share any information regarding this subject. I have been told that I have changed a lot over time, in a bad way. Like I have lost the love and empathy I had for everything. I am blunt. Now that I read this twitter post it kinda makes sense. Also stopping it is not a good idea as per the comments under the post. People have taken 2 years to taper it off. Just wanted to share this here, in case people are not aware that this phenomenon exists out there. Better to be informed than be stuck in a soup later.

The positive I would say is, because of my bluntness, i started taking care of myself more, which has made me isolate myself but I have a lot of time in my hands to experiment with things and learn what I like. I have never been able to do this since my childhood, which i think is good. So the negative is somehow positive for me. But other than that, people around me are having a bad time. Maybe It helped me reverse the masking that I had going on for myself.

Its so complicated, i am really not sure if I should be concerned about it or its working in my favor 😩

Male Pattern Baldness in 2026: What’s Actually Real- Phase III drugs, follicle reactivation, and the path to new follicles

I put this together to help get an overall picture of the present situation surrounding treatments and studies about hair fall.

This carousel is a snapshot of the male-pattern-baldness / androgenetic alopecia (AGA) frontier as of September 2026

The part I found most interesting is that AGA is increasingly looking like more than a simple “DHT problem.”

Androgen signalling is still central, but research is now also pointing toward stem-cell competence, metabolism, the follicular niche, bioelectric signalling and even tissue mechanics around the follicle.

That changes the long-term picture.

Instead of only asking “How do we slow hair loss?”, researchers are now working across four levels:

PROTECT → REACTIVATE → REPAIR → REPLACE

Protect is established.

Reactivate is being tested in people.

Repair is entering early human testing.

Replace — actually generating new follicles — is still experimental.

The most practical takeaway for someone losing hair now is still pretty simple:

Preserving viable follicles matters.

A future regenerative treatment is more likely to have something to work with in a miniaturized follicle than in an area where no recoverable follicular structure remains.

That is a biological inference from the current research, not a guarantee that every future therapy will require an intact follicle.

There is still no one-time permanent cure in 2026, and none of the experimental programmes in these cards should be taken as medical advice.
