Runner up is that the first Austin Powers movie was also released in 1997 and in that movie, Austin had to catch up on 30 years of events while he was gone.

P.S. I'm not saying Boogie Nights and Lost Highway are better movies than Titanic! It's just a joke.

Although...I think for Shauna & Lottie specifically, they would be more drawn to Lost Highway than Titanic.
