Crazy question pt. 2
Hello everybody! I’m not sure if anyone will remember me, but I’m the kid who posted on here a few months ago asking if somebody would be willing to lend me their car to take to prom. I figured I’d make this update because, believe it or not, somebody reached out and made it happen. I‘m ecstatic to share that I was able to drive a 2020 Aston Martin DB11 to prom!!!!
I, (just like all of you, I imagine) still cannot believe that I was lucky enough to be gifted the opportunity to do this. It was truly one of the best experiences of my life, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank the individual and their family enough for all they had to do on their end to make this dream of mine come true. I’m beyond grateful every single day for the level of trust that was placed in me, as it was certainly the largest vote of confidence I’ve ever been given.
I would also like to say thank you to all of those who reached out, commented, upvoted, or even just read my original post. There was such an overwhelming show of support from this community, and I received so much amazing advice and well wishes from so many of you. I really took a lot of it to heart, and I want to sincerely thank everyone that commented for their imparted words of wisdom.
Finally, to those who reached out but lived too far away, or anyone else reading that would consider doing something like this in the future: please think about it. I know how insane it sounds to let a new driver, a kid, drive a car that you’ve worked so hard for, and that likely means so much to you, but I can promise you they will NEVER forget your generosity. It may be a few hours of worrying about your car for you, but for them, it’s the creation of a truly magical memory that will last for the rest of their lives. This experience has genuinely made me fall in love with not only the brand and the car itself, but also the idea that I could have one in the future and that I could have the opportunity to do this and ignite this spark for someone else. I know it’s a huge ask, but please, just consider it. If it’s your kid, a friend’s kid, or even a stranger on Reddit who’s asking this favor, I can guarantee you it will mean the world to them if you say yes.
Thank you all for reading this, and thank you again to the person who made this happen. I will remember that day for the rest of my life, and I owe it all to you.
