Launched a site that recommends films by feel and vibe, not by genre or keyword
The best part of this sub is when someone drops the exact movie you didn't know how to ask for. The worst part is waiting for them to show up.
So I built something that does it in seconds.
I hand-built a taxonomy of 75 vibes. Not genres. Things like "3am Loneliness," "Pre-Internet Intimacy," "Rain-Soaked Noir." Then I classified 45,000 films against all 75. So when you describe a feeling, it matches against an actual map of how films feel, not a guess off a plot summary.
Three ways in:
- Describe a mood, get its closest neighbors
- Give it 2-3 films you love, it finds the through-line
- Paste a list, it matches the vibe of the whole thing (not "people who watched X also watched Y")
