Movies that feel like these.

I dont know how to explain it, something about ya know gothic fantasticalness.
Hence why Quidam, and The Dresden Dolls are mentioned, specifically that blue background I dont know why. Something whimsical gothic or goth steampunk, or the original lemony snickets series of unfortunate events.

Movies that feel like this? I remember when I was a kid I saw a movie that gave me vibes in the second and third pictures, but I don't remember the name anymore.

Epic period dramas with incredible cinematography and production design

I really like the aesthetic of epic period dramas like The Last Emperor, Reds, The Mission, and Gandhi. I'd like to see more movies like that.

Please don't talk about Fitzcarraldo, I hate that movie with all my might

films that feel like sensual summer romance + beautiful privileged people making terrible emotional decisions.

I’m looking for movies with that very specific vibe of youth, sensuality, romantic tension, old money / bourgeois decadence, summer heat, beautiful interiors, privilege, intimacy, and people drifting through life making emotionally questionable choices.

References that come to mind:

- The Dreamers

- Call Me by Your Name

- Saltburn

Bonus points for:

French / European feeling, old houses or mansions, erotic tension.

movies that feel like the spoken parts of steal my sunshine by LEN?

SLC Punk and Ghost World are the closest examples of what I’m looking for. Movies about young people/underachievers maybe just doing mundane stuff and hanging out around their hometown but with yknow, Vibes

Movies that feel like this?

I’ve already watched drive, baby driver , only god forgives and John wick, I need movies similar to hotline Miami and drive , reckless violence, preferably a hitman pov , neon 80s or 2000-2010s dim lights cinematography , quiet dialogue and some nudity for art

A desperate and brave attempt to escape your captor, which you ultimately fail

Looking for a creepy thriller with a deranged and psychotic kidnapper who keeps the protagonist captive, but with the ending being that the kidnapped person fails to escape. I don't want a gory horror movie, but something that will make your skin crawl.

Movies/shows in the images: Silence of the lambs, You, 10 Cloverfield lane, Room
