Got diagnosed today
My doctor has suspected for a while now, but nothing was definitive until a second biopsy was done. I (46F) have NH lymphoma, in the retroperitoneal area. There is a substantial mass basically growing around my aorta. We didn't discuss staging, but it's non aggressive and probably stage 1. I'm on watch and wait for 3 more months to see if the mass keeps growing. If so, I will have to start 6 months of chemo (BR protocol).
I'm not really sure what to do now, other than wait for my next CT. I'm a single mom (to one adult autistic kid and an ADHD teen) and potentially having to be off work for 6 months with minimal insurance coverage is really scary.
My doctor prescribed me exercise in the meantime because recent randomized clinical trials have shown that exercise significantly increases patient outcomes and remission rates.
Trouble is, I'm always exhausted. I'll start with some walking, but I'm not convinced I'll have the energy for much more.
Looking for advice, support, kind words - whatever you got basically. Thanks for reading if made it this far.
